The XE-YF200-JZ is a 3-in-1 compact hot sealer specifically designed for pouch lithium battery cell preparation inside gloveboxes. It integrates three essential sealing processes into one space-saving unit, so researchers can complete the entire pouch cell sealing workflow without switching between separate machines.

The three integrated functions are:

  • Top & Side Sealing — preliminary sealing before electrolyte injection
  • Vacuum Standing — electrolyte diffusion and degassing after injection
  • Vacuum Pre-Sealing — final vacuum sealing after electrolyte filling in the glovebox

This machine is particularly well-suited for Li-S (lithium-sulfur) pouch cell preparation in laboratory environments.


1. Top and Side Sealing

First, the resistance heating tube transfers heat to the copper seal head. As a result, the aluminum-laminated film packaging softens to a near-molten state under pressure, completing the press-and-fuse bond. Furthermore, both top and side seals are achieved without changing the mold, which significantly reduces setup time.

To operate:

  • Set the upper and lower temperature controllers to the target value
  • Next, place the battery cell in the sealing position and press the switch
  • Finally, the equipment completes the seal automatically — no mold changeover required

2. Vacuum Standing

After electrolyte injection, the operator manually closes the pressure plate to form a sealed chamber. The system then performs a two-stage vacuum process to thoroughly degas the cell interior.

  • Stage 1: The system extracts air to −70 KPa and holds for a set time
  • Stage 2: Additionally, the system extracts further to −95 KPa to fully remove remaining air

The secondary trapezoidal vacuum method actively prevents electrolyte extraction while ensuring complete electrolyte penetration through the separator. As a result, cell performance and consistency both improve significantly.


3. Vacuum Pre-Sealing

After vacuum standing, the copper seal head applies heat and pressure to complete the final pouch seal under vacuum conditions. Moreover, the copper material ensures excellent heat transfer efficiency compared to alternative materials.
