Three Roll Mill XN-SG Series
SKU: XN-SG
Three Roll Mill XN-SG Series grinds and disperses viscous pastes — including paint, ink, pigment, plastic, and food — using three horizontally arranged rollers turning at different speeds. Most materials reach their target fineness in about two passes, with a final fineness of roughly 3–18 μm.
Available with alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, or stainless steel rollers and a rotary speed controller, in five models from benchtop to higher-throughput configurations.

Name: Three Roll Mill XN-SG Series
Equipment Type: Three Roll Mill
Product Code: XN-SG
Brand: Xnergy
Product Introduction:
The XN-SG Three Roll Mill is mainly used to grind various pastes such as paint, ink, pigment, plastic, and food. Three horizontally arranged rollers turning at different speeds grind the material through surface friction. Most materials meet their fineness requirement in about two passes, while difficult materials need more passes. The final processing fineness can reach about 3–18 μm (measured with a fineness scraper). It is not suitable for raw materials with an acid-base composition that could corrode the rollers. The mill handles material viscosity up to 3,000,000 cP, with a rotary speed controller, a roller surface smoothness of 0.3 μm, and ceramic roller accuracy of less than 2 μm.
Selection Configuration:
Roller material: Al₂O₃, ZrO₂, SiC, or stainless steel
Blade material: ZrO₂, polyester, or stainless steel
Work pattern: Gap / torsion mode, and the torsion curve
Options: Refrigeration / heating

Application Areas:
Fine grinding and dispersion of pastes — paint, ink, pigment, and coatings
Grinding of plastics, food pastes, and other viscous materials
Processing of high-viscosity materials, up to 3,000,000 cP
Multi-pass grinding to a final fineness of about 3–18 μm
Battery R&D — dispersion and fine grinding of electrode slurries
Maintenance:
Clean the rollers and blade thoroughly after each use
Inspect the rollers for wear, scoring, or corrosion before each run
Check the roller-spacing adjustment and speed controller periodically
Avoid running strongly acidic or alkaline materials that could corrode the rollers
Safety Notes:
Keep hands and tools clear of the rollers during operation
Use the guard and follow correct feeding procedures
Do not exceed the rated throughput or material viscosity
Follow lockout procedures during cleaning and maintenance
Specifications are provided for reference and may be adjusted to suit specific process requirements. Model, roller and blade material, and options are specified at order time.
Note: Specifications listed above are typical and for reference only. Actual performance depends on the material and roller configuration. The XN-SG Three Roll Mill grinds and disperses viscous pastes — paints, inks, pigments, and electrode slurries — by passing material between three horizontally arranged rollers turning at different speeds, reaching about 3–18 μm. It is not suited to strongly acidic or alkaline materials that could corrode the rollers. For wet grinding and dispersion of slurries down to the sub-micron and nanometer range, the XN-MS Nano Sand Mill and the XN-SJM Stirred Ball Mill are complementary approaches. In battery R&D it is often used to disperse electrode slurries made from Cathode Materials and Anode Materials.
