The designation CR2032 follows the international standard IEC 60086.
“C” denotes a lithium-based chemistry with a nominal voltage of 3 V
“R” indicates a round (cylindrical) cell structure
“20” refers to the outer diameter of 20 mm
“32” represents a total thickness of 3.2 mm
Accordingly, CR2032 describes a lithium coin cell with a diameter of 20 mm and a height of 3.2 mm.
