Potassium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (KFSI) is the potassium-ion counterpart of LiFSI and NaFSI, and has attracted significant interest for K-ion battery research due to its high ionic conductivity and favorable interphase-forming properties. The FSI⁻ anion promotes high K⁺ dissociation and fast ion transport, and KFSI-derived decomposition products contribute to a robust solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on graphite and hard carbon anodes that better accommodates the large K⁺ volume change during intercalation than KPF₆-based electrolytes.
