Product Introduction

Potassium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (KTFSI) is the potassium-ion analog of LiTFSI and NaTFSI, combining the TFSI⁻ anion’s exceptional thermal stability with K⁺ as the charge carrier. KTFSI is primarily used in research contexts where thermal stability, moisture tolerance, and ionic liquid compatibility are priorities over room-temperature conductivity. The TFSI⁻ anion’s large size and charge delocalization promote complete K⁺ dissociation in polymer and ionic liquid matrices, making KTFSI a useful salt for K-ion solid polymer electrolytes and K-metal ionic liquid battery studies. As with LiTFSI and NaTFSI, KTFSI corrodes aluminum current collectors at elevated potentials and is best used in non-Al cell configurations.
