Product Code: XN-YXQM
Brand: Xnergy
Product Introduction:
XN-YXQM Series Planetary Ball Mill is Xnergy’s most comprehensive planetary ball mill range, covering 12 models from 0.4 L benchtop laboratory units up to 100 L mass-production floor units. The series achieves nano-scale grinding to a final fineness of 0.1 μm — including colloidal grinding — and supports four grinding modes (dry, wet, vacuum, protective atmosphere). A PLC panel with touchscreen interface provides convenient setup of grinding time, RPM, and forward/reverse rotation, and the oil-seal silent design lowers operating noise by approximately 50% versus conventional planetary ball mills while extending service life. The series is organized into two groups: six laboratory-scale models (0.4–12 L) and six mass-production models (16–100 L).
Key Features:
Full 12-model range from 0.4 L laboratory to 100 L mass-production
Nano-scale grinding capability — final fineness down to 0.1 μm (colloidal grinding)
Four grinding modes — dry, wet, vacuum, and inert (protective) atmosphere
PLC panel with touchscreen — programmable grinding time, RPM, and forward/reverse rotation
Oil-seal silent design — approximately 50% lower noise and longer service life than conventional planetary ball mills
Self-locking safety door that opens only when the machine is stopped
Caster wheels on all models for easy repositioning
Programmable forward/reverse rotation for better grinding efficiency and homogeneity
Power range from 0.55 kW (benchtop) up to 15 kW (mass-production 100 L)

All models share the same PLC control platform, four grinding modes, and forward/reverse rotation capability. Power supply is configurable to local electrical standards. Laboratory models 0.4 – 4 L are single-phase; larger units use three-phase supply.
Operating Modes:
Dry grinding — for dry powder size reduction, mixing, and alloying
Wet grinding — for slurry milling, particle-size reduction in solvent, and dispersion
Vacuum grinding — using vacuum jars for oxygen-sensitive materials or for de-gassing during grinding
Protective-atmosphere grinding — under inert gas inside the jars for moisture- and oxygen-sensitive chemistries such as lithium metal, sodium metal, sulfide solid electrolytes, and reactive powders
Application Areas:
XN-YXQM Series is suitable for:
Lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery active-material development — powder size reduction, surface coating, mechanochemical activation
Sulfide and oxide solid-electrolyte preparation across R&D, pilot, and production scale
Nano-powder grinding and colloidal-grinding workflows requiring final fineness down to 0.1 μm
Mechanochemical synthesis of intermetallics, alloys, and composite materials
Scale-up workflows where the same recipe must move from gram-scale R&D to multi-kilogram production with consistent process parameters
General laboratory and industrial milling, mixing, and homogenization
Maintenance:
Clean the equipment regularly with a soft cloth lightly moistened with alcohol
Lubricate moving parts periodically to ensure smooth operation
If the equipment is not used for an extended period, clean the moving surfaces and apply a protective anti-rust coating
Periodically inspect screws, nuts, pins, and other fasteners to prevent loosening
Inspect jar seals (especially vacuum jars) before each atmosphere-controlled run
Safety Notes:
Do not open the safety door while the machine is running — the door is interlocked but should not be forced
Operation should be performed by a single trained operator
Disassembly should only be performed by qualified technicians
For vacuum and inert-atmosphere modes, verify jar seal integrity before starting a run
For mass-production models (≥16 L), verify three-phase electrical installation and floor-load capacity before commissioning
Specifications are provided for reference and may be adjusted to suit specific process requirements. Grinding jars and grinding media are specified at order time according to the target material and process.
Note: Specifications listed above are typical and for reference only. Actual grinding performance depends on input material properties, grinding-media selection, jar-fill ratio, and process parameters. XN-YXQM Series is Xnergy’s only planetary ball mill range that covers the full scale-up path in a single product family — from 0.4 L benchtop R&D up to 100 L production — with PLC control, programmable forward/reverse rotation, and nano-scale grinding down to 0.1 μm available throughout the range. The key value of staying within the YXQM series across scale-up is process repeatability: the same control software, the same drive characteristics, and the same four grinding modes available from lab to production, so a recipe validated at 1 L behaves predictably at 20 L. For workflows that don’t need PLC or forward/reverse and where the smallest possible benchtop footprint is the priority, see the semi-circular XN-BQM Series; for digital-display control without PLC at floor-standing 2 L / 4 L scale, see the XN-ZQM Series. Milled powders typically proceed to slurry preparation — small R&D batches to the XN-PVM-500mL or contamination-sensitive samples to the bladeless XN-PVMC-150mL; for pilot and production batches matched to the larger YXQM mass-production models, use the XN-PVM-5L or XN-PVM-10L planetary vacuum mixers. For active materials commonly milled with this equipment, see our Cathode Materials and Anode Materials ranges (including metallic lithium and sodium metal series).
