Name: Battery-Grade LGPS Sulfide Solid-State Electrolyte (Li₁₀GeP₂S₁₂)
Material Form: Light yellow uniform powder
Product Code: XN-LGPS
Description:
LGPS (Li₁₀GeP₂S₁₂) is the classic germanium-based sulfide solid-state electrolyte and one of the most widely studied superionic conductors in the all-solid-state battery (ASSB) literature. With ~7 mS/cm room-temperature ionic conductivity, LGPS is recognized as the gold-standard sulfide electrolyte for ASSB research, and serves as a benchmark reference material for academic and industrial development programs. As a result, Xnergy’s battery-grade LGPS powder supports reproducible cell prototyping, fundamental superionic transport studies, and next-generation lithium battery development.
Application:
This material serves as a primary electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries, including catholyte for high-loading composite cathodes, anode-side separator paired with halide electrolytes (LZC, LZCO, LNOC, LIC), and bulk separator in pellet and pouch cell architectures. Furthermore, it is the most extensively benchmarked sulfide electrolyte in scientific literature, providing rich reference data for ASSB cell design, mechanical property studies, and superionic transport mechanism research.

Characteristics:
Gold-standard sulfide electrolyte (~7 mS/cm)
LGPS is the most extensively benchmarked sulfide solid electrolyte in scientific literature. With 7.0 ± 1.0 mS/cm room-temperature ionic conductivity (typical 7.1 mS/cm), it provides reliable reference performance for comparison studies and reproducible ASSB cell prototyping.
Verified Li₁₀GeP₂S₁₂ phase
X-ray diffraction confirms the target Li₁₀GeP₂S₁₂ crystalline phase. As a result, customers receive material with consistent, predictable electrochemical behavior aligned with the published LGPS literature.
Battery-grade purity and processing
Manufactured under strict quality control with EIS-validated conductivity and laser particle size analysis on every batch. Therefore, every shipment delivers reproducible performance for sensitive ASSB applications.
Optimized particle size for cell assembly
D₅₀ of 12.4 μm balances bulk pellet conductivity with composite electrode processability. Consequently, the material works equally well as a separator layer or as a catholyte component in composite cathodes.
Packaging & Storage:
The material ships bottled with aluminum foil seal, then vacuum-packed in aluminum-plastic film. Standard pack sizes: 10 g / 20 g / 50 g / 100 g / 500 g (custom packaging available on request). Therefore, customers should store the material in vacuum-sealed packaging away from heat and moisture. It is recommended to store in a glovebox with H₂O and O₂ content below 50 ppm. Sealed shelf life under inert gas is 1 year.
Transportation:
Handle carefully during transportation. Avoid squeezing, collision, and large impacts. Protect packaging and prevent sun exposure and rain.
Safety:
For research and industrial use only. This product releases highly toxic hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) gas on contact with water. Handle exclusively in a glovebox or well-ventilated dry environment under the guidance of trained professionals. Wear full PPE (chemical-resistant gloves, lab coat, safety goggles, respirator if outside glovebox). Refer to SDS for complete safety information.
Note: Values listed above are typical and for reference only. Performance may vary depending on cell architecture, cathode selection, and test protocol. Compare with our other sulfide and halide electrolytes: LPSCl Argyrodite Family up to 10 mS/cm, LNOC (LiNbOCl₄) at ~7 mS/cm, LTOC (Li₂TaOCl₅) at 6–8 mS/cm, LZCO (Li₂ZrOCl₄) at 1.55 mS/cm, and LIC (Li₃InCl₆) at 1.4 mS/cm. Pair with our high-purity Li₂S powder for in-house electrolyte synthesis.
