Product Introduction

Sodium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (NaFSI) is the sodium-ion counterpart of LiFSI and is rapidly gaining adoption in Na-ion battery research for its superior ionic conductivity and thermal stability relative to NaPF₆. The FSI⁻ anion is highly charge-delocalized, enabling strong Na⁺ dissociation and high transference numbers in both ether and carbonate solvents. NaFSI forms a stable, ionically conductive SEI on hard carbon anodes and is compatible with a wide range of Na-ion cathode materials. At elevated concentrations, NaFSI-based electrolytes show reduced Al corrosion and improved cycling stability. Xnergy supplies battery-grade NaFSI for Na-ion electrolyte research and development.

Key Features

Higher conductivity than NaPF₆ — FSI⁻ anion enables fast Na⁺ transport across a range of solvents and concentrations
Thermally stable — does not generate HF upon hydrolysis; more moisture-tolerant than NaPF₆ in typical lab conditions
Stable SEI on hard carbon — FSI⁻ decomposition products contribute to a robust interphase on hard carbon anodes
High-concentration electrolyte compatible — suitable for concentrated NaFSI formulations with reduced Al corrosion
Purity ≥99% / H₂O ≤10 ppm / Acid ≤10 ppm — battery-grade quality for Na-ion cell research
Flexible volumes — available from 500 g to bulk quantities
